HAPA’S 4th OUTDOOR SCULPTURE SHOW NOW ON DISPLAY IN DOWNTOWN HATTIESBURG
March 28, 2025HATTIESBURG, MISS. (MARCH 28, 2025) — The Hattiesburg Alliance for Public Art (HAPA) is expanding its public art offerings with installation of a new outdoor sculpture show in downtown Hattiesburg. Following a national call for artists earlier this year, HAPA has curated a dynamic exhibition featuring 11 large-scale sculptures created by artists from across the country.
This marks the fourth sculpture show presented by HAPA and the first since 2021, as the organization renews its focus on three-dimensional public art alongside its well-known mural initiatives. The 2025–2027 exhibition was made possible through funding provided by the Hattiesburg Tourism Commission.
The newly installed sculptures are part of HAPA’s growing effort to position Hattiesburg as a vibrant public art destination. The collection includes works by artists from both Mississippi and across the U.S., all of which will be displayed in prominent downtown locations through March 2027. At the conclusion of the show, one sculpture will be selected for inclusion in HAPA’s permanent collection.
“Our public art program continues to evolve and attract talented artists from around the country,” said Kristen Brock, HAPA coordinator. “This new sculpture trail complements our existing murals and painted utility boxes, adding another layer to the creative energy visitors and residents can experience in Hattiesburg. We invite locals and visitors to enjoy this newest addition to our growing public art portfolio.”
The HBURG Public Art Trail now features more than 60 large-scale murals, 29 sculptures, and 41 painted utility boxes, making it one of the city’s most popular attractions for both locals and visitors.
