Hattiesburg in Realism Mural
Hattiesburg Alliance for Public Art (HAPA) and Shows Dearman & Waits Inc. are pleased to announce a Call for Artists to design and execute an exterior mural in downtown Hattiesburg, MS. This call is open to those with professional experience in public art or painting.Concept proposals should follow the theme “Hattiesburg in realism.” Artists are asked to submit engaging designs honoring Hattiesburg’s past, present, and future. The “realism” mural should include ideas, accomplishments, people, and/or industries historically relevant to Hattiesburg. Artists can consider a timeline or chronological order of elements in their design. The design can be simple or complex, but any historically relevant items should be factually accurate through 2023. Artists are encouraged to creatively include future items if they wish.
All applications must be electronically submitted by 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023. No late or incomplete applications will be considered.
