Located at Hardy Street and North 10th Avenue, artist Kelsey Wishik transformed a building facade into a colorful work of art. In addition to HAPA, both John Neal and the Avenues Alliance were instrumental in bringing the “We’re All In This Together” mural project to life.

#WHATLIFTSYOU

KELSEY MONTAGUE

“#WhatLiftsYou” features the work of internationally-renowned street mural artist Kelsey Montague. Located in Downtown Hattiesburg, the newest piece is a part of the worldwide #WhatLiftsYou collection. Hattiesburg’s tallest mural, adorning the West Pine Street parking garage, features dragonflies soaring up the structure. #WhatLiftsYou was made possible in large part by the City of Hattiesburg and the philanthropy of locals Catherine and Chad Edmonson. Visitors are encouraged to become a part of the art and share their experience on social media.

Titled “Wonderful Day,” this downtown mural located at 300 Hardy Street is an inspirational piece highlighting a quote by author Maya Angelou. Located across from the Hattiesburg Public Library, the HAPA project was completed in March 2020 and was led by artist Ricardo Moody in cooperation with local high school art students and the building owners.

“The Yellow Brick Road” is a creative, lively walkway measuring 100 feet long by 8 feet wide. Designed by Hattiesburg artist Ricardo Moody, the primary purpose of the floor mural is to direct patrons through Hattiesburg’s new Community Arts Center. The vibrant design and yellow-gold background reflects the creative nature of the Hattiesburg community.

Created in collaboration with Ebenezer Baptist Church, the new mural, adjacent to Chain Park, will be seen by tens of thousands annually. Its message was designed to motivate and encourage Hattiesburg’s youth and the many others who visit the recreational area.
