Brighter Broadway Mural Series

Hattiesburg Alliance for Public Art (HAPA) and Brighter Broadway, a Leadership Pinebelt 2023 project team, are pleased to announce a Call for Artists to design and execute two uplifting exterior murals on Broadway Drive in Hattiesburg, MS. The project will invoke a sense of wellness, community, a brighter future, diversity, inclusion, and progress. 

The murals are highly visible to adjacent roadways, which serve as a gateway into historic downtown Hattiesburg. This call is open to those with professional experience in public art or painting. Artists may choose to submit  designs for one or both mural concepts. More details on each wall can be found below, but both murals will be independent of one another and should be themed accordingly. 

All applications must be electronically submitted by noon on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. No late or incomplete applications will be considered. There is no application fee.
